Buying a New Car? Congratulations!

NEVER trust that your dealer’s sales person is going to make arrangements for changes to your Auto Insurance coverage. First off, all insurance is a contract between the named insured and the carrier. NOBODY but the named insured can make changes to a policy. You wouldn’t let some sales person make changes to your banking information, would you?

Secondly, IF anyone else tried to make changes to your insurance, your Agent should reach out to you for direction and instructions. After all, your Agent works for you, not the dealer sales person. Still, what often happens is, the sales person forgets to contact your Agent and you roll off the lot without insurance. See where this is going?

So, if your salesman says they’ll take care of making the changes to your Auto Insurance, DON’T BE FOOLED! This could potentially result in you discovering later that you were never properly insured.

BE PROTECT, NOT SURPRISED.
