COLD? Warm Tushy or Major Pain??

It’s not uncommon to witness folks leaving their cars idling, unattended, on cold days like these. CAUTION! It’s against the law in many states (Including TN) to do so, and could result in you getting slapped with fines of upwards of $500 or more, or possibly even worse.

Car Thieves are lurking, just waiting for any opportunity to hop into a nice warm “FREE RIDE” at your expense! Don’t become a victim, risking your personal mode of transportation, for the sake of a warm Tushy.

Ask yourself, “Is the time required to file a stolen vehicle report with your police department worth a few minutes of unsecure warmth? What if the subsequent stolen auto claim is DECLINED by your Auto Insurance carrier?”  You’ll likely spend MUCH more time and money dealing with the headaches than you may have saved during the warm up. If you claim is covered, you’ll still have your $500 to $2500 deductible to think about along with a likely 30 to 45 day day waiting period for the insurance company to settle your claim for replacing your ride.

We at Roque Agency Insurance, strongly recommend staying with your vehicle while warming it up. Keep the front and rear DEFROST on and use this time to fully scrape off those windows entirely, before heading off to your next destination. Remember, protecting your insurability is your responsibility and can save you money in the long run.
